Gümüşhane Cement FactoryOn January 6, 1988, with the leadership of ÇİTOSAN with the aim of preventing unemployment in the region and revitalizing the provincial economy, it was established with a capital of 2 billion TL, and in 1993, the capital was increased to 42 billion TL and a strong financial structure was achieved with the capital increase. The factory was sold to Rumeli Holding with the decision taken by the Privatization High Council in 1996. Gümüşhane Cement Factory was privatized in 1996 for 3.5 million dollars. Rumeli Holding, which bought the factory, partially used the factory as cement packaging until 2001, but it was seized by the TMSF due to the company’s debts and resumed in 2006. The factory was bought by Aşkale Cement in 2006 and was put into operation with the investments made in 2009. The new line, the foundation of which was laid in October 2011 and with a daily clinker production capacity of 4 thousand tons, started production. With this new investment belonging to Gümüşhane Çimento, the annual cement production capacity has reached 1 million 760 thousand tons. In the facility; CEM I 42,5 R, CEM II AM (P-LL) 42,5 R and CEM II BM (P-LL) 32,5 R products have EC conformity certificates. Gümüşhane Factory has ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certificates.
